On January 7, 1979 Pastors David and Joyce Chedester established Faith Christian Center in Westover, WV, held in an attendee's house. A few months later the church rented and relocated to a church building in Morgantown, WV.

The Pastors then established Valley Christian Center in Masontown. This church later began meeting in the Reedsville Fire Hall. Pastor David preached in both Faith Christian Center and Valley Christian Center each Sunday morning.

In 1983 both churches desired to merge. In October of that
year, the church merged and became known as Faith Christian Fellowship of Independence, an affiliate of FCF Int'l in Tulsa, OK.

The church purchased property that same year at the corner of Route 119 and Gladesville Road. Construction of the building was started in 1987 and by 1990 the building was sufficiently completed to hold its first service on Easter Sunday.

In 2000 the remainder of the building was completed. Since then the church continued to mature and grow under the Pastors' direction and leading by the Holy Spirit.

In June 2016, the church celebrated the home-going of Founding Pastor David Chedester. The Board of Directors and Founding Pastor Joyce Chedester then began transitioning the church to its next step.

Pastor Jeff Anderson was installed as the new Senior Pastor in March 2017. Pastor Jeff and Michelle Anderson continue to advance the vision and direction of the church by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
